Dana Williams was born in Louisiana but spent her youth traveling the world as an Air Force “brat”.  A career in the financial industry led her to Arizona where, with the urging of her husband Todd, she started her own successful mortgage company. Desiring a creative outlet, Dana took a fused glass class in 2007; fell in love with the medium, and in January 2008, A Pampered Pet was born.

“The colors, texture and feel of glass has always fascinated me.  Glass is such a diverse and challenging medium, but an unforgiving one. What comes out of the kiln is not always what goes in. Glass has a mind of its own and you can never guarantee how it will melt or what shape it will take.  But it does guarantee that each piece will be unique.”

Her love of animals inspired her initial designs - upscale jewelry and fused-glass bowls for pets.  She has four lively dogs, three whom are rescued dogs.  With encouragement from customers and with several classes in jewelry making, wire working, resin and chain under her belt, Dana expanded her repertoire.  A Pampered Personality offers artisan jewelry with distinctive designs in a mixture of colors, textures and forms. From simple and elegant to bold and dramatic, A Pampered Place provides functional art and home decor.

“The response and word of mouth has been great,” Dana states.  “It is a huge pleasure to pamper your loved ones and yourself as well.  I’ll admit that with the economy, it probably wasn’t the best time to start a new business.  And especially now, people need a little pampering.  I do a few shows a year and have the online store but the majority of my business is still in custom designs.”
